Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Cash Application Associate to join our Accounting team. In this role, you will support our finance operations by processing and reconciling cash transactions, researching and resolving exceptions, and building strong working relationships across our client service and operations teams. You will play an important part in keeping our financial workflows accurate and on track, contributing to a collaborative team environment where flexibility and initiative are valued.
This is a full time, 12 month contract, based in either our Vancouver or Burnaby, BC office with hybrid work arrangements.
Job Description
Below are the main general responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Communicate, analyze, and research to resolve exceptions.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with client service operations team and markets.
- Contribute to a cooperative team environment in which cross functions are assumed as necessary in order to meet department deadlines and goals.
- May assist in other special projects as required
- Ability to work overtime at month-end
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
- 1 – 2 + years experience in accounting field preferred and/or completed courses in accounting or bookkeeping
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Basic Excel Skills required. Intermediate preferred with ability to perform V-lookups, pivot tables
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Work under pressure to deadlines
- High degree of accuracy with a good eye for detail
- Self-motivated and proactive
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and achieve results in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Experience in a shared services accounting environment is a plus
- Insurance Brokerage Experience preferred
- Experience with Oracle NetSuite is a plus, but not required
Salary Range
The expected salary range for this position is from $45,000 – 55,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
