One More Question: What Else Does Your Client Own?
Sep, 2026 | Beyond the Policy | SPG Canada
A boat at the cottage? An ATV on the acreage? A property conversation can reveal a recreational asset your client hasn’t mentioned. In this episode of Beyond the Policy from SPG Canada, we explore a practical question for Canadian insurance brokers: “What else does your client own?” Listen for cottage and acreage examples you can use in your next conversation.
Start with one more question
When a client talks about their property, ask what else they own. The conversation may include a boat kept at the cottage or an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) used on the acreage. These examples give brokers a simple way to continue the discussion beyond the property itself.
Use the cottage and acreage examples
At the cottage, start with a boat: “Do you also own a boat?” On the acreage, ask about an ATV: “Do you also own an ATV?” Use the answer to understand what the client would like to discuss next.
In “One More Question: What Else Does Your Client Own?”, we use these examples to explore how a property conversation can reveal a recreational asset the client hasn’t mentioned.
